Five more expelled from BNP for election candidacy

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled five more members for participating in the upcoming Union Council and municipal elections, in defiance of party decisions. This information was disclosed in a statement signed by BNP's Deputy Office Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu on Wednesday.
The statement mentions that Fahmid Faisal Chowdhury, the president of BNP's Jaladhaka Upazila, participated in the upcoming Jaladhaka municipal election against party directives. Based on specific allegations, he has been expelled from all positions, including primary membership of BNP.
Further, the statement reveals that specific allegations of defiance of party decisions in the upcoming Union Council elections led to the expulsion of the vice president of BNP's Biral Upazila in Dinajpur district, Sadek Ali; joint convener of Chittagong North District's Chikondandi Union, Rashed Ali Mahmud; member Zahurul Alam; and Md. Hannan Mia, a member and general secretary of the Fishermen's Association of Eidgaon Upazila, Cox's Bazar district, from all levels of positions including primary membership in the party.
