Awami League's General Secretary and minister of bridge transport and bridge Obaidul Quader said the United States cannot do anything one-sided even if it wants.

Regarding the meeting with the Jatiyo Party, he said that there was no discussion about the division of seats in the meeting. Instead, discussions were held to prevent election-related misconduct, violence, and clandestine attacks by coordinating the unity of election-oriented parties to ensure a fair, transparent, and peaceful election. The primary focus was on political discussions.

At a press briefing on Thursday at the Awami League president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in Dhanmondi, Obaidul Quader stated, the main point of the meeting (with the Jatiya Party) was that whatever was necessary would be done to make the elections free, peaceful and fair. Assassination, sabotage, and secret attacks will be prevented in a coordinated and united manner with the election-oriented parties. Election opponents will be dealt with by being united.

He said that relations with election-oriented political parties are being strengthened. Discussions have been held with 14 parties and the JP for this. The main discussion was about making the elections fair. There is nothing to make a fuss about talks with the JP.

Obaidul Quader said, we have discussed with all the political parties with whom we had an alliance, that is, the grand alliance regarding the election. With our cooperation with them, we feel the urge to strengthen our relationship. That is why the meeting was held with 14 parties.

He said, "The more the elections are coming closer, the more BNP is getting entangled in election manipulation. Their level of manipulation may further escalate. Even the chickens are their targets. The level of violence and the alarming clandestine attacks are breaking records. Until yesterday, they vandalized six hundred vehicles and torched ten trains."

Regarding the new conditions set by American garment buyers in the garment sector, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister said the United States won't be able to do anything unilaterally even if they wish to. The allied countries of the United States in Europe, Asia, and the Pacific Ocean region are no longer biased toward Bangladesh when it comes to making any extreme decisions.

Obaidul Quader stated, "We are not friendless abroad. They know how Sheikh Hasina is conducting elections in Bangladesh to protect constitutional continuity. She is holding elections so that no chaos is created in the country, Power and opposition parties will be decided by people’s vote.

Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif and Afam Bahauddin Nashim, Organizing Secretary BM Mozammel Haque, Deputy Secretary Sayem Khan, and others were present at the press conference.
