The government is going to destroy the education system: Rizvi

On Thursday (25 January), BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi criticised the new education policy and school curriculum, labelling them as anti-national. He expressed concern that these changes would only undermine the education system.

"The government is going to destroy the country’s education system by introducing an anti-national curriculum in the new education system," he said at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.

“The new education policy and curriculum contradict the country’s culture and values. If they are implemented, the country’s education system will be destroyed," he said.

Rizvi said online use has been expanded in the curriculum, but online education is not perfect at all levels. He said it is extended rather than limited in this curriculum. As a result, students are turning to online gambling, and teens are joining gangs.

He also observed that attempts have also been made to pervert the adolescent mind by introducing sex education in the name of health protection education.

In his address, the Senior BNP leader also discussed the January 7 election, stating that the government has engaged in unprecedented repression against opposition parties to orchestrate one-party polls on that date. He emphasised that this election has been widely regarded as absurd both within the country and internationally. Furthermore, he commented that the dummy government is now seeking congratulations, a questionable move.

He said that the second BAKSAL is going on in the country. The Awami League established Bakshal on this day in 1975. Not only pranks but puppet plays have been selected in the country.

Rizvi also spoke about party leaders and activists in jail. He said the United Nations has demanded the speedy release of the arrested leaders and activists. Top leaders have been jailed for unilateral elections. At this time, he also commented that law and order forces are doing terrible business with BNP leaders and activists.
