Religious minorities endure prosecution for withdrawal of support from AL: Nitai Roy Chowdhury

BNP Vice Chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury has alleged that religious minorities, including Hindus, are subjected to torture when they withdraw their support from Awami League or its boat symbol. He made these allegations following an on-site investigation conducted on Saturday in Faridpur and Jhenaidah on behalf of the BNP regarding incidents of minority persecution both before and after the 12th National Assembly elections on January 7.

The investigative committee first visited Rankail village in Kanaipur Union of Faridpur Sadar Upazila, where they toured the homes of victims and listened to firsthand accounts of the violence. Accompanying Nitai Roy were former General Secretary of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Lawyers Association, Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal, BNP Central Committee Co-Religious Affairs Secretary Amlendu Das Apu, BNP Central Committee member and Dhaka District BNP General Secretary Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury. Additionally, present were Jubo Dal's Co-Legal Affairs Secretary Advocate Noore Alam Siddiqui Sohag, District BNP Acting Member Secretary Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, Joint Convener Syed Zulfikar Hossain Jewel, Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Golam Mostafa Miraj, Kotwali Police Station BNP General Secretary Nazmul Hasan Chowdhury Ranjan, Jubo Dal's Central Committee Vice-President Benazir Ahmed Tabriz, District Youth Party President Rajib Hossain, Senior Vice-President KM Jafar, along with other local BNP leaders and activists.
