Rafiqul Alam Majnu, the Member Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP, stated that there is no joy among the people today. The ruling party's cadres have established a reign of terror across the country. People's freedom of speech has been snatched away, and democracy has been exiled. Due to their misrule, all festivities, including Eid, have faded.
He said that the rise in commodity prices has made life unbearable for the people. The democracy-loving citizens of the country are suffering from a lack of security. The Awami looters have economically hollowed out the country through their plundering. To protect their illegally acquired wealth, they want to make their power permanent.
These remarks were made by him as the chief guest at an Iftar gathering organized by Ward No. 7 of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP at the Maniknagar Commissioner's Office in Mugda Police Station area of the capital on Friday afternoon.
Majnu mentioned that the nation will not forgive those who are supporting this illegitimate government in its efforts to destroy democracy, just as the people have rejected this anti-national government. Under the leadership of Tareq Rahman, the pride of the youth, democracy will be established in this country, and everyone must be prepared to make any sacrifice for this.
The event, chaired by Oli Ahsan, General Secretary of Ward No. 7 BNP, and conducted by Organizational Secretary Shahidullah, was attended by Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP members Sheikh Mohammad Ali China, Councilor Shamsul Huda Kajal, among others.
During the event, financial assistance was provided by the BNP leaders and activists of Mugda Police Station to the families of the deceased leaders of the Jubo Dal, Shamim Molla, and the Workers Party, Fazlul Rahman, on behalf of BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
