Acting Chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman, stated, "the master and slave are killing the people of the country. People of all classes and professions must unite as they did during the Liberation War of 1971, irrespective of party affiliation. The country and its people must be protected from the dacoits."
He made these remarks while participating virtually as the chief guest in the Iftar Mahfil organized by Dinajpur-6 constituency on Sunday.
He said that the border security force of the neighbouring country is killing members of our border guarding personnel and ordinary people. Despite protesting against border killing, the adviser of our dacoit government insists that the people of the country have problems. They have no concerns for the people of the country. Because they do not have the courage or ability to protest. Those in the government claim that they have been able to come to power because of a specific country on their side. When does one put another in power? Only when the latter becomes an agent for the former. However, the bandit-party have now become slaves of the neighbouring country.
Tarique Rahman said the 'master state' is killing people at the border. And their slaves are killing people within the border. The terrorist organization of the slave government, Chhatra League, killed Abrar, a brilliant student of BUET. What was his crime? he asked. It’s because Abrar was protesting against India's appropriation of the water from the Feni River. The master and slave have imposed themselves on people, he added.
The acting chairman of BNP said that the country's youths are going abroad and risking their lives. They drown in the sea. They send remittances to the country with immense difficulty and after much hardship. But they are not able to find employment in the country. Yet people from neighbouring countries are coming to work in our country and taking money away.
He said that the police regularly file cases against BNP leaders, arresting them and torturing them. But the same force couldn't have anticipated that the bank robbery occurred in the hills. Intelligence agencies could not predict. Yet they would always accuse the BNP, even if the BNP does nothing. They could not even protect people's life and property.
Tarique Rahman said the government has destroyed the judiciary. It does not have the power to deliver justice. There seems to be a double standard, with one set of proceedings for the government party and another for BNP members.
