Member of the BNP's Standing Committee Goyeshwar Chandra Roy stated that the Liberation War of 1971 was orchestrated due to democratic, economic, and political disparities. Fifty-two years after independence, we witness that the Awami League is a worse authoritarian and despotic than the Pakistanis. They are capable of selling off the country for the sake of remaining in power.

He added, "There's no money in the banks today. The money wasn't eaten by rats. Who consumed it? The Prime Minister is destroying the country's economy through private syndicate."

During a keynote speech at a mass Iftar organized by Zia Mancha at the ground floor of BNP's Nayapaltan office on Sunday evening, he expressed these views.

Goyeshwar remarked, "The ongoing movement is for the restoration of voting rights and democracy, led by Tarique Rahman. This movement has already gained significant momentum. The people have rejected the one-sided vote and said no to the government. The international community has also labeled Bangladesh as a dictatorship. This illegal ruling party will wash away in the downpour of the ongoing movement."

The event was chaired by the organization's General Secretary, Foyezullah Iqbal, and conducted by Senior Joint General Secretary, Jamal Uddin, with the presence of BNP's National Executive Committee members and Zia Mancha's senior leaders including Abu Taleb, Notary Nazmul Hasan, Abdul Hamid Mamun, president of Dhaka South, Anisur Islam Sayem, general secretary of Dhaka North, and South's General Secretary Rezwan Masud among others.
