
Sylhet, Jan 5 (UNB)--Ahead of the 12th national parliamentary election scheduled on Sunday, a five-day ban has been imposed on all kinds of public meetings, gatherings and processions in Sylhet district.
A notice signed by Sheikh Russel Hasan, deputy commissioner of Sylhet, issued on Thursday.
According to the notification, the ban on any form of public gatherings, meetings, processions, and rallies has been imposed for five days starting from 8am on Friday.
The ban will remain effective until Tuesday afternoon (January 9), read the notice.
Legal action will be taken against those who violate the ban, it added.
