"Hello everyone, please come and see, vote rigging is going on in this centre. Please come forward, don't accept this vote. We will not allow vote rigging. We also support the Awami League."
A young woman named Mimi urged everyone to help stop vote rigging and called Dhaka 5 Constituency boat candidate Harun Or Rashid Munna to inform him that a woman named Sathi on the second floor and others on the roof were rigging votes.
In the video that went viral on social media, she was seen along with several other youths being present at around 9 pm on Saturday night. Police and Ansar members were also seen indifferently roaming around in the video.
In the 10-minute video footage, she claimed on Facebook live that ballots were being stamped on the roof of Ali Hossain's house. However, the woman did not mention for whom or for which symbol the ballots were being stamped.
At that time, several people were seen trying to restrain the angry woman. Mimi claimed, "Dipu is stealing votes, take him out." Soon after this, responding to the call of the woman, local residents gathered at the polling station and were seen banging on the gate.
At one point in the video, the woman kept saying that there will be no voting in this center tomorrow. We will not accept this vote. However, the policemen were sitting nearby silently.
The woman named Mimi claimed several times to be a supporter of Haroon or Rashid Munna. She claimed, "We are also supporters of boat (Awami League's symbol), we don't accept this vote." At one point, the woman named Sathi came out of the centre after Mimi's protest and claimed that she came to visit the centre to see how to maintain order on the election day.
