Voting for the 12th National Assembly is ongoing nationwide, beginning at 8 am. At 10:30 am on Sunday, at the Nayatola Government Primary School polling station, the presiding officer, Amal Kumar Sarkar, two policemen and an Ansar member were observed sunbathing in front of the school.
When asked why he was sunbathing, he responded, "It's been two hours since polling started, yet no voter has arrived at my centre. I'm trying to warm up as it's cold. The total number of voters registered for this centre is 1628.
Amal mentioned that six candidates were in contention at his centre. However, aside from representatives bearing the boat and mango symbols, no other polling agents had been assigned. Nevertheless, Presiding Officer Amal expressed optimism that voter turnout might increase as the day progresses.
Outside the centre, a voter named Litton was observed watching the scene. When questioned, Litton responded, "Can I vote alone or not? If someone else comes, then I will go to vote. But I feel ashamed to cast alone."
