Dolly Sayantani complains about forced voting in favour of boat

In Pabna-2 (partially Sujanagar-Bera upazilas) constituencies, voters are forced to cast their vote for Awami League’s boat symbol in various centres. In addition, boat supporters are casting a lot of fake votes, alleged BNM's candidate for this constituency, singer Dolly Sayantani.

She came live on his Facebook page at around 10:30 am today on Sunday after polling started and made this complaint.

Dolly Sayantani said on Facebook Live, "In most of the centers of Sujanagar, voters are being given paper with the picture and symbol of the boat candidate. Voters are coming to the centre with that paper. Local village heads from the centre are asking them to vote for the boat. At the same time, they are asking to fold the ballot paper publicly. In most areas of Sujanagar's Mohammadiya Dakhil Madrasa, Manikhat, Sujanagar municipal areas, supporters of boat candidates are casting fake votes. Forced voters to cast vote for boat. The polling agents for the 'anchor' symbol were thrown out of the centres."

On Live, Dolly Sayantani drew the attention of the administration to 'stop such voting'. She demanded the closure of the centres where votes were taken in this way.

When contacted after the Facebook Live, Dolly Sayantani said, "Voting in favor of boats is being taken forcibly in most centres. In a center called Gopalpur Government Primary School, the ballot boxes were filled by 10 am. If it continues like this, it cannot be called a fair and impartial election. We want such voting stopped. The supporters of the boat symbol everywhere are casting fake votes. I have visited all centres and caught them myself.”

When asked about these complaints, the boat symbol candidate for the constituency and the current member of parliament Ahmed Feroz Kabir said, "Such complaints should not be made on speculation." A specific complaint should be made. There is no forced voting in any centre. And if you complain about forced voting, it is not against me, it is a complaint against the administration."

When drawing attention to this matter, the District Commissioner and District Returning Officer. Asaduzzaman said, "She (Dolly Sayantani) made a specific complaint about a centre. A magistrate has been dispatched there. Legal action will be taken in case of any irregularity. No concession will be made to make sure that the vote fair and impartial.
