There were various kinds of pressure regarding the election: Foreign Minister

The recently appointed Foreign Minister, Hasan Mahmud, acknowledged that the election has been subject to various pressures and took place amidst diverse forms of influence. He emphasised on the need to move forward collectively.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud, the former Information Minister and current Foreign Minister, engaged in discussions with journalists as part of his official responsibilities. The event was attended by officials from different levels of the Ministry, along with various media personnel.
Furthermore, the foreign minister asserted that the country had conducted a free, fair, and peaceful election on January 7. He highlighted the festive atmosphere in which people voted, highlighting the absence of violence during the electoral process.
He stated, "Observers from America, Britain, the European Union, and many other countries have attended this election. They enthusiastically praised the election, deeming it acceptable. The people of the country also share the same sentiment."
Responding to a question, Hasan Mahmud said, "There were various types of pressure— medium and low. However, the election proceeded despite all the pressure. We feel no constrained and aim to collaborate with both the East and the West."
In response to another question, the foreign minister stated, "America is our most significant trade partner, but there is room for expansion. Dr. Hasan Mahmud also remarked that trade expansion is a challenge to be addressed in the forthcoming days."
Following exchanging views with journalists, the Foreign Minister convened a meeting with the Director General and additional officers from the Ministry's wings.
