Singapore Airlines flight experiences deadly turbulence: One passenger dead, dozens Injured

A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight en route to Singapore from London's Heathrow Airport encountered severe turbulence, resulting in the tragic death of one passenger and injuries to several others.

The incident occurred on May 21, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport at 3:45 pm.

According to an official Facebook post by SIA, medical assistance was promptly provided to the injured passengers upon arrival.

The post mentioned that approximately 30 passengers sustained injuries during the turbulence. While the exact cause of the turbulence remains unclear, investigations are underway to determine the contributing factors.

The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft hit by the turbulence was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members.

Singapore Airlines has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased passenger and is actively assisting all passengers and crew on board Flight SQ 321.

The airline is collaborating with local authorities in Thailand to ensure that the injured receive the necessary medical care.

A dedicated team has also been dispatched to Bangkok to provide additional support and resources as required, the airlines informed.
