The order, issued by Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain, was made in response to an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Three of the seized flats, located in Dhaka's Bashundhara area, are registered under the name of Matiur's first wife, Laila Kaniz Lucky, who is also the chairman of Raipura upazila in Narsingdi.

Prior to the court order, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had issued a notice on July 2nd requiring Matiur Rahman to provide his wealth statement, along with those of his wives and children.
The notice warned of legal action under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act if the statements were not submitted within 21 working days or if found to be false.

These properties, including land, apartments, factories, luxurious houses, and resorts, are registered under his name, his first wife Laila Kaniz Lucky's name, his children's names, and various relatives' names.
