The army chief is engaged in discussions with political parties regarding the current political crisis.

According to a press release from the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) today (5 August), he is also expected to address the nation once the meeting concludes.

In the meantime, all roads leading to Shahbagh have been reopened, and the public has expressed their gratitude to the army by presenting them with flowers.

Initially, Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman was scheduled to address the nation at 2pm, but this has been postponed to 3pm.

The army chief has called on citizens to remain patient until then.
