Following the government changeover, all 50 officers-in-charge in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area have been reassigned.

The order for the transfer of 32 OCs was issued around midnight on Sunday, while the remaining 18 were reassigned on August 13.

Consequently, every police station within the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has a new head. The transferred inspectors are now stationed at training centers nationwide, where they will be responsible for training police personnel.

Some officers have been reassigned to the Tourist Police, Armed Police Battalion, or Industrial Police, losing their previous command authority as OCs.

Since the Sheikh Hasina-led government fell on August 5, there has been a comprehensive police reshuffle.

Inspector General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun was dismissed and succeeded by Traffic and Driving School Commandant Mainul Islam.

Additionally, Additional IGP AKM Shahidur Rahman has replaced Harunor Rashid as the Rapid Action Battalion Director General.

Dhaka Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman was mandated to retire and has been succeeded by CID Deputy Inspector General Md Mainul Hasan.

High-profile officials, such as former Special Branch chief Monirul Islam and former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman, were also directed to retire.

On August 13, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued three separate notices announcing the replacement of 51 police officials, including three additional IGs.

On Saturday, 13 officials holding the ranks of DMP additional deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner were reassigned from Dhaka.

That same day, seven new officials were appointed to the positions of DMP deputy commissioner.

The next day, 73 police officials were simultaneously promoted to the rank of deputy inspector general.

Among them, 31 were advanced from the rank of superintendent of police, effectively receiving two promotions in one move.
