As of Friday evening, approximately 1.1 million consumers in flood-affected regions were still without electricity, according to the Rural Electrification Development Board (REB).

Flooding, caused by heavy rains and the overflow from hills, has impacted several areas, including Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Comilla, Cox's Bazar, Chandpur, Brahmanbaria, and Moulvibazar.

Power supply has been disrupted in many places to prevent accidents due to submerged power substations, electric meters, and damaged poles.

Feni has experienced a complete power outage.

REB has incurred financial losses exceeding Tk7.95 crore to date.

Akash Kusum Barua, Assistant General Manager of Feni REB, reported that all 13 substations have been shut down, leaving 441,546 customers without electricity.

Zakir Hossain, Senior General Manager of Noakhali REB, noted that approximately 250,000 customers are without power, and water inside their office has reached waist height.

Mahbubul Alam, Assistant General Manager of the Lakshmipur Palli Bidyut Samiti, reported that around 40,000 customers are without electricity due to damaged transmission lines and poles.

Makbul Hossain, General Manager of the Brahmanbaria REB, stated that 15,000 customers have been without power due to water entering meters and damage to electric poles.

ABM Mizanur Rahman, General Manager of the Moulvibazar REB, indicated that power connections have been suspended for 42,000 customers.

The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) is still supplying electricity to Sylhet, Comilla, and other regions; however, many customers in these areas are also experiencing power outages due to the flooding.
