Bangladesh protests Indian home minister's remarks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh has formally expressed strong protest regarding the offensive comments reportedly made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah about Bangladeshi nationals during his recent visit to Jharkhand, India.
In
a protest note delivered today to the Deputy High Commissioner of India
in Dhaka, the Ministry conveyed its serious concerns, deep hurt, and
strong displeasure.
It urged the Government of India to advise its political leaders to avoid making such objectionable and unacceptable statements.
The
Ministry underscored that remarks of this nature, especially from
individuals in positions of responsibility, undermine the spirit of
mutual respect and understanding between the two neighboring countries.
