No alternative to rule of law for achieving a just society: Chief Justice

Sept 30 (UNB)--Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed said that there is no
alternative to the rule of law to ensure justice at all levels of society and
establishing an exploitation-free society.
He said these things at
the reception held at Barishal Courthouse on Monday night under the initiative
of District Lawyers Association.
During his visit, Chief
Justice Ahmed acknowledged the commitment of Barishal lawyers, noting, "I
have observed that court proceedings are well-established here. Justice seekers
rely on lawyers for assistance, and I believe Barishal lawyers are fulfilling
their duties with dedication."
He emphasized the
importance of continuous education for lawyers, urging them to stay updated on
legal developments.
"Success will come if
you work with knowledge and integrity," he said.
The Chief Justice also
highlighted the lawyers' responsibility to assist the court honestly in
upholding justice and protecting the judiciary's honor.
He called for vigilance
to ensure that their actions do not undermine the judiciary's image. He
expressed confidence that the lawyers of Barishal would work diligently in
accordance with the law to promote justice.
Earlier this day, he
visited several courts, including the District and Sessions Judge Court.
