Peter D. Haas, the former U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, has joined Excelerate Energy, Inc. as a Strategic Advisor, according to a press statement from the company.

Ambassador Haas concluded his 33-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service on September 27, retiring from his most recent role as Ambassador to Bangladesh.

Haas will begin his new position at Excelerate’s Washington, D.C. office in October. His extensive experience in the State Department includes roles such as Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, Consul General in Mumbai, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Throughout his career, he has served at U.S. embassies in London, Rabat, Berlin, and Port-au-Prince.
