The reactor assembly process at Unit 1 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has been successfully completed.
This phase involved the installation of reactor internals, the loading of fuel assembly simulators, and the installation of a protective pipes unit, upper unit, and Smart Automated and Monitoring Systems (SAMS) sensors.
The next step will involve hydraulic testing to verify the operability of the reactor plant equipment.
The assembly work was carried out by specialists from Atomstroyexport, Atomtekhenergo, and Rosenergoatom.
Alexey Deriy, Vice President for Projects in Bangladesh at Atomstroyexport, stated, "The completion of the reactor assembly and preparation for key tests marks a significant milestone in ensuring the efficient operation of the future power unit."
"We are committed to maintaining safe, uninterrupted, and reliable operations, meticulously monitoring each phase of the work with advanced, well-tested technologies," he added.
The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant is being developed with technical and financial support from Russia, featuring two power units with a combined capacity of 2,400 MW.
The project will utilize Russian VVER-1200 reactors, an advanced Generation III+ design that meets all international safety standards. The Rosatom Engineering Division serves as the project's general designer and contractor.
