Bangla Outlook editor Faisal Mahmud made Press Minister at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi
Journalist Faisal Mahmud has been appointed as Minister (Press) at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi for a two-year tenure.
The Public Administration Ministry on Sunday issued a circular in this regard.
Faisal has reported on Bangladesh for prominent international outlets, including Al Jazeera, Nikkei Asia, and Anadolu Agency.
His work has also been featured in publications such as Asia Times, The New Humanitarian, Rest of World, The Wire, Scroll.in, Voice of America, and The Diplomat, among others.
Additionally, he has served as the editor of the online news platform Bangla Outlook (English) and has been the member secretary of the Bangladeshi Journalists in International Media (BJIM), a platform for journalists representing foreign media.
Faisal is the youngest son of Dr. Md Alee Murtuza, former Vice-Chancellor of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and the nephew of Amanullah Mohammad Asaduzzaman, widely known as "Shaheed Asad," a martyr of the 1969 mass uprising.
