Pakistan’s Additional Foreign Secretary holds key meetings to strengthen bilateral ties

Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Pakistan’s Additional Foreign Secretary for Asia and the Pacific, engaged in a series of high-level discussions with senior Bangladeshi officials to review and enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including foreign relations, trade, culture, visa policies, and people-to-people exchanges.
During his meeting with Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary, Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, the two sides assessed the current state of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, which are founded on mutual respect and shared values.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of their ties and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their cooperation. They also discussed the upcoming visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to Bangladesh.
Ambassador Siddiqui also met with Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Bangladesh’s Secretary of Commerce, where they focused on expanding bilateral economic and trade relations.
Both officials acknowledged the growing momentum and explored new opportunities for further growth in these areas.

In addition, Ambassador Siddiqui held discussions with Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, to explore new avenues for cultural cooperation, covering areas such as music, cinema, drama, youth exchanges, and people-to-people contacts.
Both sides agreed to work closely to deepen cultural ties between the two nations.

The ambassador's final meeting was with Mr. Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, where they reviewed the ease of travel between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Both parties discussed various measures to enhance bilateral cooperation further, including simplifying travel procedures.
