Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka hosts grand reception to mark 85th National Day

The High Commission for Pakistan in Bangladesh hosted a grand reception on Sunday evening to celebrate the 85th National Day of Pakistan with elegance and patriotic fervor.

Held at a prominent hotel in the capital, the event was attended by over 400 guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, political leaders, business representatives, media professionals, academics, and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Bangladesh.

Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Honourable Advisor on Education, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, along with those of Pakistan’s High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maroof, emphasis was placed on the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation.

Both speakers highlighted the need to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the areas of trade, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

Dr. Abrar also extended heartfelt greetings on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, conveying best wishes to the people and government of Pakistan on their national day.

A highlight of the evening was a series of cultural performances by artists representing various regions of Pakistan, offering guests a vivid glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage, colorful traditions, and artistic diversity.

Adding a literary touch to the occasion, the High Commission also launched a bilingual coffee table book titled “From Summit to the Sea”, showcasing Pakistan’s travel and tourism offerings.

High Commissioner Maroof described the publication as a token of friendship for the people of Bangladesh and expressed hope that it would inspire greater cultural curiosity and tourism exchange.

In his closing remarks, the High Commissioner extended his appreciation to the Chief Guest, government officials, members of the diplomatic and business communities, the media, and all attendees for their presence and warm participation in the celebration.
