Bangla Outlook on Thursday published a report titled, “Joy’s multi-million-dollar divorce settlement raises questions amid corruption scrutiny.”

The report mentioned Summit Communications Ltd and cited documents used in preparing the story.

Summit Communications has since issued a rejoinder in response to the report. We are publishing the rejoinder verbatim, along with our response to it.

Rejoinder:

The report published in your reputed online news portal and newspaper namely “Bangla Outlook” under the title “Joy’s multi-million dollar divorce settlement raises questions amidst corruption scrutiny” on 21st May 2026 has caught our attention and we would like to humbly state the facts as follows:

•⁠  ⁠The ownership and corporate structure of Summit Communications Limited are maintained and governed in accordance with the applicable laws of Bangladesh and all relevant jurisdictions. The company is also regulated by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

•⁠  ⁠According to the facts and records maintained by the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), the individual named in the report published has never held any shareholding interest in, served as a director of, or otherwise been an owner of Summit Communications Limited by any means from its inception to date.

•⁠  ⁠This record is publicly accessible through the RJSC portal.

•⁠  ⁠Any allegation or insinuation regarding concealed ownership, indirect interests, or unlawful association, as implied in the report, is false, fabricated, baseless and unsupported by credible evidences.

Our reply:

Bangla Outlook acknowledges receipt of the rejoinder issued regarding our report titled “Joy’s multi-million dollar divorce settlement raises questions amidst corruption scrutiny,” published on May 21, 2026.

Our report was based on publicly available court filings, corporate records, and information gathered from multiple documentary and reporting sources relevant to the subject matter under public interest scrutiny.

At no point did the report claim that the individual concerned held direct shares, served as a director, or was officially listed as an owner of Summit Communications Limited in records maintained by the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC).

The report examined broader questions surrounding alleged links, influence, financial associations, and issues raised in connection with ongoing public discussions and scrutiny relating to wealth, assets, and corporate proximity. Any interpretation suggesting direct legal ownership was neither explicitly stated nor asserted as an established fact by Bangla Outlook.
