Leaders of the Socialist Students Front have strongly condemned the ongoing incidents of rape, violence, and murder across Bangladesh, demanding the swift prosecution and maximum punishment of those responsible.

In a joint statement issued today, the organization’s central committee President, Mukta Barai, and General Secretary, Raihan Uddin, expressed deep shock over the recent rape and brutal killing of seven-year-old Ramisa in Pallabi, Dhaka.

The horrifying incident, they said, has stunned the entire nation and exposed the alarming insecurity faced by women and children throughout the country.

The student leaders stated that women and children in Bangladesh are no longer safe either at home or in public spaces.

They warned that repeated incidents of rape and murder, combined with a growing culture of impunity, are encouraging criminals to act without fear of justice and pushing society toward increasing brutality.

According to the statement, such barbaric violence against innocent children is unacceptable in any independent and democratic state.

The leaders argued that the murder of Ramisa is not an isolated incident, but rather a reflection of the broader failure of the state and administrative systems to ensure public safety.

They further criticized the failure of law enforcement agencies, which operate with public funds, to guarantee the security of ordinary citizens. This failure, they said, emboldens perpetrators and weakens public confidence in the justice system.

The organization demanded exemplary punishment for Ramisa’s killers at the earliest possible time.

At the same time, the leaders called upon students and people across the country to unite in protest against violence against women and children and to raise a collective voice on the streets against the culture of impunity.
