Chinese technology giant and Bangladesh's leading smartphone brand, Xiaomi, has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17T, in the Bangladeshi market, bringing Leica-powered photography capabilities and premium hardware features to local consumers.
The smartphone was unveiled at an event titled “The Moment Beyond Sight” in Dhaka. The launch ceremony was attended by technology journalists, reviewers, professional photographers, and industry stakeholders.
The Xiaomi 17T's standout feature is its Leica-powered triple-camera system, designed to deliver professional-grade photography. The setup includes a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with a Leica Summilux optical lens, alongside a 50-megapixel Leica 5x telephoto camera capable of supporting up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
The device also introduces specialized photography modes, including Live Moment and Stage Mode, aimed at enhancing users’ creative experience.
The smartphone features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness reaching 3,500 nits. Xiaomi said the display is supported by Xiaomi Vision Care and TÜV Rheinland-certified eye-comfort technologies to reduce eye strain during prolonged use.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor paired with Xiaomi HyperOS, offering improved performance for multitasking, gaming, and day-to-day operations.
The device also integrates Xiaomi HyperAI features, Google Gemini, and Google's Circle to Search functionality.
Powering the smartphone is a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Xiaomi claims can provide up to 1.57 days of usage on a single charge. The device comes with a slim design featuring micro-curved edges and carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
