The production warrant for BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the party's National Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has been revoked. These two leaders are set to be released today, and their lawyer, Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah, confirmed this information.

He said, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury have been granted bail by the court in the cases they were shown arrested. Since there were production warrants for court appearances in the cases, there is a legal provision to revoke those warrants.

The lawyer added, "we have withdrawn those production warrants. They are expected to be released shortly this afternoon."

Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder said the BNP Secretary General had production warrants in 13 cases.

On October 28, before the BNP's general meeting started in Nayapaltan of the capital, police clashed with BNP leaders and workers in Kakrail from noon. The clash later spread to the Bijayanagar water tank and Shantinagar area.

At one stage, the BNP's general meeting was thwarted at around 3 pm. A member of the police and a ward-level leader of the Jubo Dal were killed in the clash. Additionally, 41 police and 25 members of the Ansar were injured. Besides, at least 20 journalists were injured.
 
After this incident, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Mirza Fakhrul from his residence in Gulshan on October 28. Afterwards, when he was produced in court in the case of attack and vandalism at the residence of the Chief Justice, the court rejected his bail plea and ordered him to be sent to jail.

Meanwhile, DB arrested Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury from a house in Gulshan on November 2 at around 1 am. The next day, on November 3, he was shown arrested in the case of the policeman killed in the clash during the rally.
