Poppi Roy (35), along with her daughter, Adita Roy (12), and son, San Roy (8), tragically perished in the fire that ravaged a multi-storey building on Bailey Road in the capital. Poppi was dining at the Kacchi Bhai restaurant within the building with her two children.

Following the events of Thursday, February 29, the atmosphere at Dhaka Medical College Hospital weighed heavily with the anguished cries of the relatives of the three victims.

Relatives of the deceased recounted that Poppi Roy had taken his two children to enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Tragically, all three perished in the fire that engulfed the building. Now, they anxiously await the retrieval of the bodies.

Basna Rani, the mother of the late Poppi Roy, was seen fainting and weeping in front of the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. She lamented, "I have lost everything. There is nothing left. What sin have I committed to deserve such punishment from God?"

According to relatives, the deceased Poppi resided with her family in the Shanti Bagh area of the capital.

Health Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen disclosed that a staggering 43 individuals lost their lives in the devastating fire that erupted in the high-rise building on Bailey Road in the capital. The building accommodated several restaurants.
