While the Palestinians are mercilessly killed through a heinous genocide committed by Israel, they are getting overwhelming support from throughout the world. Not only the Muslim and third world countries in general but also in the West and even in the US the disapproval for Israel and its main patron US is rising.
The oppression against Palestinians by Israel is not new as it has been taking place over the last 75 years or so. But the Western media always sugar coated this in the name of antisemitism and so called self defense of Israel. The media and the regimes use the propaganda to portray Israel as an innocent victim of anti semitic sentiments and undermine the struggle of Palestine.
In the academic circle there has been strong condemnation but this time even the general mass has been active in protest and it seems the media propaganda cannot hide the menaces of Israel and US anymore. Streets are observing large processions and people in many sectors are showing solidarity to the Palestinians struggle.
US president Joe Biden has lost his credentials and popularity largely and that is an ominous sign for him in the election year. It was observed recently that Iran responded to the attack of Israel. The Muslim country clearly indicated that it wants to avoid war and just did that to save its pride after being attacked. However, in the past the US would be brutal to punish such acts and retaliation would be inevitable.
The Ukraine war has also waned the power and hegemony of the US. Despite the full support of the West, led by US and NATO, Ukraine could not stop Russia. Not only that, despite all the economic embargo and pressure Russia could not be crippled.
The worst thing is the still brazen act of the US. Recently it has vetoed against Palestine in UN and it is alleged South Africa, who lodged a genocide case against Israel in the international court, is being threatened by the US.
These things are waning US hegemony and many countries are now contemplating forming an anti-US alliance. These countries know that today or tomorrow the US will bite if they stay docile and this is the high time of resistance as public support is huge against US imperialism.
However, it will not be easy as the US still has immense economic and military power and despite popular support, the rulers of most countries are still ready to stay behind the US for their own benefits.
Nevertheless, it is certain the mega power is in some sort of peril.
